Burke & Wills Projects is looking for an experienced and practical
Site Supervisor, Shopfitter, Carpenter or Senior Joinery Installer
to lead the day-to-day delivery of commercial projects across Brisbane
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on site, leading trades, solving problems and seeing quality projects come together.
This position is ideal for an experienced who is confident managing sites, coordinating subcontractors and trades, communicating with clients and Project Managers, and ensuring every project is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.
This is primarily a
site supervision position
, with hands-on installation work required when necessary to support successful project delivery.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily site operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with company and client requirements.
You will provide regular progress updates, photographs and site reports to the Project Manager and promptly communicate any delays, risks, variations or quality concerns.
Projects may include commercial fitouts, joinery installations, maintenance and minor works, aged-care refurbishments, bathroom and kitchen refurbishments, and the installation of bulkheads, kitchens, wall bays and client-supplied joinery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned commercial project sites.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, suppliers and site personnel.
Plan daily works and ensure labour, materials, equipment and site access are organised.
Read, interpret and work from construction plans, specifications and shop drawings.
Monitor project programs, milestones and completion deadlines.
Provide daily or weekly progress reports and site photographs to the Project Manager.
Identify and promptly report delays, defects, variations, safety risks and project issues.
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and safety inspections.
Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements, SWMS, company procedures and site rules.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, presentation and quality control.
Complete inspections, defect lists and project handover requirements.
Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are stored and protected appropriately.
Communicate professionally with clients, building managers, subcontractors and internal teams.
Assist with the installation of commercial joinery, fixtures and fitout components when required.
Maintain accurate site records, documentation and project information.
Keep the worksite organised, secure and presentable.
Support the Project Manager from site establishment through to practical completion and handover.
About You
You are an organised and reliable construction professional who can confidently take ownership of a site and keep the Project Manager informed.
You lead by example, communicate clearly and understand the importance of safety, quality, documentation and client relationships.
You will ideally have:
Demonstrated experience supervising commercial construction, fitout,
refurbishment or joinery projects.
A trade background in shopfitting, carpentry, cabinetmaking, joinery installation or a related field.
Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and site requirements.
The ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and shop drawings.
Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Confidence managing project priorities, deadlines and changing site conditions.
A strong understanding of WHS obligations and safe work practices.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to prepare explicit progress reports and accurately document site activities.
A professional approach when communicating with clients and stakeholders.
A hands-on attitude and willingness to assist with installation work when required.
Pride in delivering high-quality projects and maintaining professional standards.
Construction White Card.
Relevant commercial construction, fitout, joinery or shopfitting experience.
Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating works on construction sites.
Full Australian working rights.
Ability to travel between project sites across Brisbane and surrounding areas.
Highly Regarded
Trade qualification in carpentry, cabinetmaking, joinery or shopfitting.
Working at Heights ticket.
EWP or other relevant construction tickets.
Experience delivering aged-care, retail, hospitality, office or commercial refurbishment projects.
