Salary range GradeSalary range Grade 6: $131,053 - $175,373 (this range is subject to increase following current EBA negotiations)

The Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) is the independent statutory authority responsible for regulating Victoria's teaching profession, helping to ensure quality teaching and the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
We're seeking an experienced and strategic people leader to join our People & Culture team as
Strategic People Partner Manager
.
This newly established leadership role will play a critical part in driving workforce capability, leadership effectiveness and organisational performance across VIT.

About the role
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, you will lead the People & Culture Business Partnering function and provide strategic advice to executives and senior leaders on workforce, culture and organisational effectiveness priorities.




You will lead a team of Senior People & Culture Business Partners and work closely with leaders across the organisation to deliver contemporary people strategies that support VIT's strategic objectives.
This is an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide outcomes and contribute to the development of a capable, engaged and future-ready workforce.
Key responsibilities
As our Strategic People Partner Manager, you will:
Lead and develop a high-performing People & Culture Business Partnering team.
Act as a trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders on strategic workforce and people matters.
Drive workforce planning, organisational design and capability-building initiatives across the organisation.
Lead the development of VIT's talent and succession management framework and facilitate organisation-wide People Days to identify talent, strengthen succession pipelines and support employee development and retention.
Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations and industrial relations matters.
Lead the people aspects of organisational change, transformation and reform initiatives.
Champion initiatives that strengthen culture, inclusion, wellbeing and employee engagement.
Use workforce analytics and insights to inform decision-making and improve organisational outcomes.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, enterprise agreements and public sector obligations.
About you
You are an accomplished HR leader who combines strategic thinking with strong business partnering capability.
You are confident influencing executives,



leading teams and navigating complex organisational environments.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Significant experience in a senior HR leadership or business partnering role.
Demonstrated success partnering with executive leaders to deliver workforce and organisational outcomes.
Expertise in workforce planning, organisational design, talent management and leadership development.
Strong employee relations and industrial relations experience, ideally within a unionised environment.
Outstanding stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills.
Solid analytical capability and experience using workforce data to inform strategy.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
