EOS Space Systems requires an early or mid-career mechanical design engineer.
Candidates need to possess strong fundamental knowledge of general mechanical engineering practices backed by hands-on experience in designing large scale metallic and composite structures, servo-drive systems and gearboxes, precision positioners and encoders and electro-opto-mechanical assemblies.
More specifically, an ideal candidate would have a strong background in designing, implementing and testing telescopes, telescope enclosures, positioning systems and servo drives.
Applicants must be confident in working in rapid-pace multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
Responsibilities
Structural design and analysis of lasers, optical mounts, telescopes and telescope enclosures.
Implement retrofits and redesign sub-systems and components for existing EOS telescopes.
Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors and manage delivery and installation of designed components to tight timeframes.
Develop design documentation within the EOS' systems engineering framework.
Perform assembly, integration, verification and validation testing of designed components and assemblies.
