Hydraulic Engineer (Plumbing)

Our client is a well-established Western Australian engineering and construction business with a long history of delivering hydraulic services across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, residential, and infrastructure sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced
Hydraulic Engineer
to join their Perth-based team.

The Role
As a Hydraulic Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, documentation, and delivery of hydraulic and plumbing services across a broad range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design hydraulic and plumbing systems including:
Cold and hot water services
Sanitary and trade waste systems
Stormwater and rainwater harvesting systems
Natural gas and LPG systems
Sewer pump stations and associated infrastructure
Fire service water infrastructure where applicable
Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.
Ensure designs comply with the NCC, PCA, Australian Standards, and relevant authority requirements.
Coordinate designs using Revit, AutoCAD, BIM platforms, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and clash detection processes.
Attend client meetings, site inspections, and design workshops.
Provide technical support throughout construction and commissioning phases.
Manage project deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
About You
Degree qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Hydraulic, Building Services, or similar).
3+ years' experience in hydraulic/plumbing engineering design.
Proven experience delivering hydraulic services within building or infrastructure environments.
Strong understanding of Australian plumbing and hydraulic design standards.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable
Experience with hydraulic modelling software.
Previous mentoring or leadership experience.
Exposure to BIM and digital engineering workflows.
