Clinical Coding Auditor/Educator (Medical Records Manager Gde 1 / Health Manager

Employment Type:
Temporary Full Time, 38 hours per week until 18 July ****
Temporary roles are available to visa holders, with contracts issued in accordance with visa conditions. Visa holders will be considered where no suitable Australian citizen or permanent resident is identified.
Remuneration:
Health Manager Level 1: $1,****** - $2,****** per week
Medical Records Manager Grade 1: $2,****** per week
In addition to base salary,12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging + Flexible Working (subject to approval)

Develop and provide education and training to clinical coders, enhancing knowledge, capability, and consistency within the team.
Work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders to review, audit, clinical documentation, and improve clinical coding practices, strengthening data integrity and reporting outcomes.

The ideal candidate demonstrates the following:
Robust attention to detail with a focus on coding accuracy and compliance.
Effective communication and active listening skills to support coder engagement and education.
Experience in clinical coding auditing and education, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
Unique opportunity to combine auditing and education to improve coding quality and team capability. Responsibilities include audits, education, and supporting complex coding queries.
Relevant coding qualifications and experience in ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS required.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
Degree or Associate Diploma in Medical Records Administration or Health Information Management or other relevant health related qualification and /or experience relevant to the role.
Describe your qualifications and extensive clinical coding experience, including your knowledge and application of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS standards.
Provide examples of complex coding scenarios you have managed and explain how you ensured coding accuracy, consistency, and compliance with national standards.
Provide an example of a clinical coding audit, quality improvement initiative, or education program that you have led or significantly contributed to. Describe the issue identified, your approach, the outcomes achieved, and how results were communicated and implemented.
Demonstrate your understanding of casemix measurement systems and Activity Based Funding within a hospital environment. Include examples of how you have used patient administration systems, databases (including MS Access or similar), and reporting tools to support coding performance, data quality, or funding outcomes.
Provide an example that demonstrates your ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders while managing competing priorities in a demanding healthcare environment. How did you organise your workload, meet deadlines, and achieve a successful outcome?
