The opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and experienced P&C; Specialist Advisor to join our global team based at Cochlear's global headquarters in Macquarie Park, Sydney. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive employee experience and enabling Cochlear's culture and business priorities. Working closely with People Managers, P&C; colleagues and key stakeholders, you will provide risk-based advice on a broad range of complex workforce matters.
Responsibilities
Managing complex employee relations matters including performance, conduct, workplace conflict, grievances, investigations and fitness-for-work cases
Providing specialist policy, governance and employment practice advice across the employee lifecycle
Supporting organisational change initiatives through risk‐based and pragmatic employee relations guidance
Partnering with business leaders in a unionised environment to foster positive workplace outcomes
Providing global mobility, visa and immigration advice to employees and people managers
Driving continuous improvement in people processes, service delivery and employee experience
Analysing trends and emerging risks to support proactive people strategies and decision‐making
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and trusted advisor who thrives in complexity and builds strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder group. You make sound decisions grounded in legislation, policy and practical business outcomes, while demonstrating empathy and professionalism when navigating sensitive employee matters. You are comfortable working through ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and providing clear advice in complex situations. You bring a collaborative approach, sound judgement,
and a commitment to delivering fair and consistent outcomes.
You will need to demonstrate experience in:
Managing complex employee relations matters, including investigations, performance, conduct, workplace conflict and grievances
Providing specialist advice on employment legislation, workplace policies and governance frameworks
Supporting organisational change and workforce initiatives through effective risk management and stakeholder engagement
Partnering with leaders to navigate sensitive and challenging workplace situations
Building constructive relationships within a unionised environment
Using data and insights to inform decisions, identify trends and manage risk
Collaborating across teams to deliver consistent and scalable people solutions

Exposure to organisational change, workforce transformation, union engagement, global will be highly regarded. While experience in global mobility is advantageous, we are open to developing the right candidate who brings robust employee relations capability and a willingness to learn.
