We are seeking an experienced
People, Safety & Culture Manager
to join our team in Braeside. This is a key role within our management team, responsible for supporting the business in creating a safe, engaged and high-performing workplace where our people can thrive.
Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you will be the business's trusted advisor across Safety, Risk, People and Culture. Your primary focus will be to strengthen our safety culture, ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, support organisational risk management, and provide practical HR guidance to managers across the business.
This is a collaborative, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys partnering with leaders, building strong relationships and providing practical, commercially balanced advice. Rather than driving every people decision, you will equip managers with the knowledge, confidence and support to lead their teams effectively while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
The position is part-time (3-4 days per week) and offers a competitive salary.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Act as the trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on Safety, Risk, People and Culture matters.
Lead and continuously improve Kinder Australia's health, safety and wellbeing programs, fostering a proactive safety-first culture across the business.
Maintain compliance with Workplace Health & Safety legislation, coordinate safety training,
oversee incident investigations, monitor corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
Support organisational risk management by maintaining risk registers, assisting with compliance initiatives and embedding sound governance practices.
Support managers with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, disciplinary matters, succession planning and employee development.
Develop and coordinate organisational training programs to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills and resources to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Provide practical coaching and advice to managers on employment legislation, workplace policies and HR best practice.
Maintain HR systems, policies and documentation to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Promote an engaged, cooperative and values-driven workplace culture.
The Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for someone who is a strong operator and enjoys turning plans into action. You are highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering work accurately and efficiently. You take ownership, follow through on commitments, and are known for getting things done without compromising quality or compliance.
Qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience as a People & Culture Manager, HR Manager or similar leadership role.
Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, HR best practice and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Experience developing and maintaining positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
Strong interpersonal, coaching and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for people, culture and safety.
