You enjoy getting beneath the surface of complex technology environments.
Not simply reviewing a design, but understanding how platforms are configured, how systems connect and whether a solution will perform once it moves into operation.
In larger organisations, that breadth is often divided across specialist teams.
Here, you will have visibility across the broader enterprise environment.
ACEREZ is establishing the technology capability that will support the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. New platforms, integrations and managed services are being introduced as the organisation prepares for long-term operations.
The business needs a senior technical individual contributor who can identify weaknesses early, challenge vendor assumptions and ensure current capability is ready to operate.
This is not a PMO, reporting or coordination position.
It is a hands‐on role for someone who can work across enterprise technology while applying the depth expected at Level 3.
About the Role
Reporting to the Technology Operations Manager, you will provide technical analysis, validation and assurance across ACEREZ's Microsoft‐centric enterprise environment.
Your work could involve examining Microsoft 365 tenant settings, reviewing identity architecture, assessing Azure designs, tracing integration behaviour or investigating network dependencies.
You will review vendor designs and delivery artefacts to determine whether proposed solutions are technically sound, complete and supportable beyond implementation.
As platforms transition into operation, you will validate that monitoring, recovery,
documentation, support arrangements and configuration baselines are ready for the live environment.
The position also operates alongside Network Operations across the IT/OT converged zone.
Deep SCADA or operational technology engineering expertise is not required. You will ensure enterprise identity, infrastructure, networking, data and integration services support operational needs while respecting clear ownership boundaries.
What You'll Be Doing
Analyse Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Purview, Fabric and enterprise infrastructure at a technical level
Examine platform configurations, telemetry, integrations and cross‐system dependencies
Review Microsoft 365 tenant services across Teams, Exchange and SharePoint
Assess identity architecture, access models and cloud platform design
Investigate networking across segmentation, DNS, private endpoints and connectivity boundaries
Challenge vendor designs, technical assumptions and delivery artefacts
Validate solutions transitioning from project delivery into managed operations
Identify technical, support and recovery risks before new capability goes live
Support alignment between enterprise technology and operational requirements across the IT/OT interface
What You'll Bring
Senior experience in a Level 3 infrastructure, platform or enterprise technology role
Experience with a critical infrastructure environment highly advantageous
Strong technical capability across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure and enterprise infrastructure
Experience investigating platform behaviour, integrations, configurations and dependencies
Understanding of identity, cloud and enterprise networking principles
Experience supporting operational readiness, delivery‐to‐run transition or early‐life stabilisation
Confidence reviewing and challenging vendor designs within a multi‐provider environment
Exposure to regulated, critical infrastructure or other high‐consequence environments
Sufficient OT awareness to operate effectively across the IT/OT boundary
Vendor‐neutral judgement and the ability to form clear recommendations from technical evidence
The communication skills to explain complex issues to technology leaders and delivery partners
About ACEREZ and the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone
ACEREZ Partnership is a consortium comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, appointed by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission network for the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.
This infrastructure will enable large‐scale renewable generation, supporting reliable and affordable energy supply across NSW while contributing to the state's Net Zero targets.
