Experienced Veterinary Nurse | Montrose & New Norfolk VetCentre | Full Time
Montrose & New Norfolk VetCentre is a progressive, well-equipped small animal practice located in both Montrose and New Norfolk, and we're looking for two passionate, experienced Veterinary Nurses to join our team on a full time, 12-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of ongoing employment beyond the initial term. We're a capable, collaborative crew who genuinely enjoy what we do. We see a wide and wide-ranging caseload, we invest in each other's growth, and we hold ourselves to a high standard – because our patients and their families deserve nothing less. With new vets joining and new services launching in ****, now is the perfect time to come on board and help shape what this team becomes.
We offer a full range of services including general, emergency, and orthopaedic surgery, dentistry, soft tissue, oncology, behaviour, and imaging — plus Accell therapy and Water‐Walker underwater treadmill rehabilitation. Our surgical suites are built for high clinical standards, and we're a team that's constantly growing — in skills, in services, and in the way we show up for each other.
We know this industry isn't without its challenges — and we take that seriously. Your wellbeing is not an afterthought here. We're committed to a safe, supportive environment backed by real safety standards, EAP support, a Mental Health First Aid network, and our VP Cares benefits program.
What you'll be doing
Supporting our vets across all aspects of nursing - anaesthesia, surgical nursing, patient care, and client communication
Delivering exceptional care to every patient and a standout experience to every client
General nursing tasks including anaesthetic monitoring, patient admission and discharge, IV catheter placement, and blood collection
Assisting across a varied caseload including soft tissue, orthopaedic, emergency, and rehabilitation cases
Maintaining excellent hygiene across the practice including surgical areas and equipment
Working 76 hours a fortnight (across a 9‐day fortnight) with Saturdays on rotation
What we're looking for
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent experience)
Confidence across anaesthesia, surgical nursing, patient care, and client communication
A genuine passion for animals and the people who love them
A positive, team‐first attitude with solid communication and organisational skills
Someone who wants a workplace that genuinely invests in their growth — and gives back as much as they put in
Small clinic feel. Big network behind you.
