About the Opportunity
Join NT PHN in a meaningful role responsible for developing and managing a range of program activities within the Health Commissioning Branch.
The Health Partnerships Senior Program Officer will work closely with commissioned service providers, healthcare stakeholders, government agencies, and community partners.
The role manages multiple contracts and delivers projects and initiatives that contribute to improved health outcomes for NT communities.
Ensuring funded services align with organisational priorities, contractual obligations, and community needs, while supporting continuous service improvement and program performance.
About You
You have a strong understanding of health issues and health services in rural and remote areas, including the delivery of primary health care services in rural and remote areas.
You bring excellent stakeholders engagement skills and a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients, partners and stakeholders.
You work effectively with others to co-design solutions, maximise outcomes, and ensure organisational coordination and efficiency in an environment requiring cultural sensitivity.
You have:
• Knowledge or training equivalent to a degree in business or health or other related field; and/or relevant, equivalent expertise and experience.
· High-level organisational skills and a track-record of taking initiative and meeting timelines with limited supervision and with a high attention to detail.
· Strong data-gathering and analytical skills, and the ability to produce and coordinate reporting and evaluation of health programs and initiatives.
· Strong computer literacy skills including competency in Microsoft Office programs such as SharePoint and Excel.
· Ability to adapt to unfamiliar systems and processes, with the proven ability to develop and implement processes, policy and procedure to support effective program management, contract compliance and deliverables.
· Superior communication skills including written communication to provide high level and timely advice, build rapport, high-level reports and produce clear and effective documentation.
About the Role




Key priorities include:
· Working collaboratively and effectively as a member of a high-performing team, engage positively with management and all internal staff.
· Accountable for effective and efficient management of contracts with commissioned service providers
· Managing working groups by providing secretariat and project support including stakeholder management and drafting discussion papers, agendas, and reports.
· Coordinate effective program implementation, management and reporting to uphold policies, guidelines and reporting requirements in line with funding agreements.
· Oversee and maximise the use of online systems to support quality checks, data capture, trend analysis and performance reporting.
· Support the Health Partnerships Lead by overseeing integrity of budget and program data to meet program goals.
· Undertake analysis of program portfolios where applicable to support market sounding and recommissioning activities.
· Work collaboratively across branches to build strong and trusting relationships, maximise outcomes, reduce duplication, ensure organisational integration and efficiency.
· Conduct a structured approach to program evaluation and post-implementation reviews, needs identification and ongoing improvements.
· Partner with health recruitment and retention support functions within NT PHN to ensure service providers have access to an adequate workforce and are supported to retain staff.
· Prepare high level documentation with recommendations that are accurate and succinct, including business cases, Briefing Notes, discussion papers, subject reports, guidelines, policies and procedures and any other documentation as required.
