The opportunity
We are currently looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly Pool Attendants to join Federation Council's Corowa Aquatic Centre and Howlong Pool who have the following attributes:

Are available early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends.
Role Description
This role is a lifeguard qualified position and training will be provided to suitable candidates.
In addition to undertaking general operational and customer service duties, you will be responsible for providing a safe and supervised aquatic environment for all patrons.
In this role, you will:
Undertake lifeguard supervision of pools, monitoring patrons and enforcing pool rules.
Perform water rescues, provide first aid, and administer CPR as required.
Provide emergency care pending the arrival of appropriately qualified personnel.
Carry out customer service and administration duties.
Perform basic food preparation and service.
Inspect and monitor pool facilities to identify and respond to faults and hazards.
Undertake facility patrols to monitor activities of patrons and enforce pool rules.
Conduct pool water sampling, pool, and facility cleaning.
Alternative Opportunity
- If you do not currently hold a Pool Lifeguard qualification, or if you prefer a role focused primarily on customer service, we are also recruiting for Pool Attendant Level 1 positions!

Position Criteria
Council's preferred candidates will ultimately possess a range of the following qualifications, experience, skills, and knowledge.
Pool Lifeguard (SISSS*****) qualification or the ability to acquire.
Current and valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) qualification or the ability to acquire.
Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check and National Criminal Check.
Safe Food Handling Certificate or the ability to acquire.
Proficient customer service skills including the ability to respond to enquiries, build rapport, manage complaints, and resolve conflict.
Previous experience with point of sales and cash handling and/or basic food service.
Previous experience cleaning and presenting facilities.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and make decisions independently.
On-the-job training and support will be provided for all successful candidates.
Council will also assist with facilitating Pool Lifeguard training for suitable candidates.
Successful Level 2 candidates will have the opportunity to attend in-house training for the Pool Lifeguard (SISSS*****) qualification, including first aid, on Saturday 24th October **** & Sunday 25th October ****.

Salary commencing at $***** per hour including casual loading (for 19 years and over).
Junior rates apply to 18 years and under.
Weekend work is paid at the base rate + penalty rates.
