The Corporation and its members are committed to providing a central point of contact for Community members to access our service and programs across Eastern Metropolitan Melbourne.
The role of the Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Outreach Worker is to provide support and advocacy for Aboriginal people and their families in supporting access and treatment in relation to substance use.
THE ROLE IS WELL SUITED TO A PERSON WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Experience working with AOD and/or dual diagnosis clients;
Willingness to participate in relevant training;
An understanding of the intergenerational loss,
grief and trauma that is experienced by Aboriginal community members and the subsequent self-medication (AOD) issues that result;
Experience in dealing with complex clients with multiple and complex needs including provisions of working with their families; and
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and adherence to relevant legislation, policies and issues impacting on service delivery for clients and their families
Role based at our Montrose location but does require travel across the Eastern Metro region
