About the role:
We are seeking an experienced ICT Strategy & Transformation Lead
for a fixed-term period of up to two years to shape Dorset Council's digital future.
This is an exciting opportunity to establish Council's ICT strategy, strengthen cyber security governance, lead major transformation initiatives and leave a lasting organisational legacy.
Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, managers and employees, and external service providers, you will develop and deliver a staged ICT strategy and digital roadmap, while establishing the frameworks, standards and governance required to strengthen Council's digital capability and support long-term organisational success.
About you:
The successful applicant will have the following:
A strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate future organisational needs and translate Council priorities into practical technology, governance and business improvement initiatives.
A passion for business improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance services, efficiency and user experience through technology and process redesign.
The ability to understand business needs and develop practical, fit-for-purpose digital solutions that support organisational objectives.
Proven capability to lead complex ICT projects and organisational change initiatives, building stakeholder commitment and supporting the successful adoption of new systems, processes and ways of working.
Strong governance and risk management capability, with the ability to establish frameworks, standards and controls that support effective decision-making and manage organisational risk.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide trusted advice, influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across the organisation.
A commitment to continuous organisational improvement, using technology as an enabler to strengthen services, systems and business outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Transformation, Business Information Systems or a related discipline, or extensive demonstrated experience in a comparable senior ICT strategy, transformation or technology leadership role.
Current driver's licence.
Ability to obtain and maintain required checks relevant to the role.
Desirable:
Qualifications,
certifications or training in project management, business analysis, change management, ICT governance, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture or service management.
Experience presenting to Executive Leadership Teams, Councillors or governance committees.
Experience establishing project governance or portfolio management practices.
Experience working in local government or another complex regulatory environment.
What's on offer:
A fixed term (full-time) position, including some work from home once established in the role, recognising that this position has a strong on-site leadership and stakeholder engagement focus.
Annual salary of $120,000 to $138,500 p.a. negotiable, plus 12% superannuation.
Rostered Day Off structure, with the option to work a 9-day fortnight or 19-day month.
Relocation and/or travel allowance, negotiable based on experience and travel requirements.
