Position Profile: The
WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking an experienced and
innovative Social Work leader to establish and lead a new Extended
Hours Virtual Social Work Service focussed on Family and Domestic
Violence (FDV) and Child Safety/Protection based in Perth.
This
exciting three-year pilot program will provide social work support
to rural and remote hospitals and emergency departments across
country Western Australia, ensuring patients have timely access to
expert intervention when and where it is needed most.
The role is responsible for the development,
implementation and operational leadership of this service, shaping
a contemporary model of care that extends access to social work
expertise beyond traditional business hours.
Working
collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, health services and
external agencies, the role will drive service innovation,
workforce development, clinical excellence and continuous
improvement throughout the pilot period.
The successful applicant will have a unique
opportunity to lead the establishment and evaluation of this
innovative three-year pilot, contributing to evidence generation
and future service planning that will inform the long-term delivery
of virtual social work services across WACHS.

Applicants should address the following
criteria in no more than 3-4 pages:
• Demonstrated
experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary or social work
team, including workforce planning, recruitment, performance
management, staff development, and fostering a positive team
culture.
• Extensive
experience in the assessment and management of complex family and
domestic violence (FDV), child safety/protection, and vulnerable
patient presentations within hospital and emergency department
settings with knowledge of the rural healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated




experience in clinical governance, risk management, quality
improvement and service evaluation, including the development of
policies, procedures, clinical pathways and performance reporting
to support safe and effective service delivery.
• Demonstrated
ability to establish, implement and evaluate new services or
programs, including leading change initiatives and contributing to
innovative models of care that improve patient outcomes and service
access.
Essential Qualifications
• Tertiary
qualification in Social Work.
• Eligibility for
full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
(AASW).
