Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage a Project Management Officer.
This position involves supporting IT system project delivery across Australia.
About the Position
The role supports the delivery of multiple IT system projects by contributing to governance, reporting, planning, and risk management activities.
It requires coordination across business, policy, and technical teams.
Duties
Lead a centralised PMO function including governance and reporting
Support integrated project planning across timelines and dependencies
Track and report on project performance against milestones
Manage risks, issues, and decisions including escalation
Coordinate interdependencies across delivery and project areas
Support governance through reporting and briefings
Develop and maintain project artefacts and tracking tools
Requirements/Skills
Experience managing multiple project tasks simultaneously
Ability to contribute to or design PMO frameworks and governance
Skilled in risk identification, tracking, and mitigation
Experience maintaining risk and issue registers
Understanding of governance processes and reporting expectations
Experience supporting planning, sequencing, and prioritisation
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work with executives and project stakeholders
Baseline Security Clearance required
