We are seeking a proactive and skilled
Maintenance Officer
to support the upkeep and functionality of our facility.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks, ensuring our workplace remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.
Reporting to the Manager, you will carry out a range of duties including minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
Core Skills:
Maintenance & Repairs
General handyman skills (e.g. painting, carpentry, minor repairs)
Preventative and reactive maintenance experience
Basic plumbing (e.g. replacing washers, connecting appliances)
Basic electrical knowledge (e.g. testing outlets, replacing batteries)
Use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles
Ability to identify and report major repair needs
Grounds & Facility Care
Landscaping and garden maintenance
Operation of machinery (e.g. lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws)
Irrigation and reticulation system maintenance
Cleaning and upkeep of facility vehicles
Safety & Compliance
Strong understanding of WHS practices
Risk assessment and safe equipment handling
Accurate record-keeping and task sign-off procedures
Contractor supervision and coordination
Position Requirements:
Formal Trade Qualifications or practical work experience, demonstrating basic trade skills
Current First Aid Certificate
Minimum of 2 years previous experience in building/ site maintenance preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of the understanding of chemical Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and associated safety precautions
Demonstrated experience of hand tools, equipment and safety
