We're looking for an experienced
Senior Payroll Manager
to take ownership of our end-to-end payroll function and play a key role in the next stage of our growth.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll oversee the payroll for approximately
650 employees
across our hotels and corporate operations, ensuring accurate, compliant and efficient payroll delivery.
More than just managing payroll, you'll have the opportunity to improve processes, drive system enhancements and help shape the future of the function.
As our business continues to expand, this role offers a genuine opportunity to build and lead a dedicated payroll team, including coaching and supporting a junior payroll team member, making it an ideal role for someone who enjoys developing people as much as delivering operational excellence.

What you'll be doing
As our Senior Payroll Manager, you'll:
Lead the end-to-end weekly payroll function across our hotel and corporate operations.
Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time in accordance with employment contracts, Up-to-date Awards and legislative requirements.
Manage payroll across multiple awards, including Hospitality, Property, Construction, and Hair & Beauty.
Oversee PAYG, Superannuation Guarantee and Single Touch Payroll compliance.
Review and approve payroll processing while working closely with operational teams to resolve timesheet and payroll issues.
Prepare payroll reports and provide insights to key stakeholders.
Complete Workers Compensation wage declarations, renewals and payment processing.




Identify opportunities to improve payroll systems, processes and controls, driving continuous improvement across the function.
Partner with Finance and HR on payroll projects and business improvement initiatives.
Build strong relationships across the business and provide trusted payroll advice.
Mentor, support and develop a junior payroll team member while helping establish a high-performing payroll function as the team grows.
About you
You'll be an experienced payroll professional who combines technical expertise with a collaborative leadership style.
You'll bring:
Proven experience managing payroll within a medium to large organisation.
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and workers compensation.
Experience interpreting and applying multiple Modern Awards.
The ability to identify, investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies independently.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to recommend and implement better ways of working.
Experience with Employment Hero (highly regarded), or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
A passion for mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture.
