Disability Support Worker - Rockhampton (Sleepover Supports)
We have permanent rosters available across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes in Rockhampton, offering ***** hour fortnightly contracts, working sleepovers (up to five per fortnight) with some days and afternoon shifts.
To be considered for this role, you must be available to work consecutive sleepover shifts.
Working within our SIL homes in Rockhampton, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home.
Responsibilities
Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends and services.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Your calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor, combined with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern, will allow you to confidently provide personal care, support daily living tasks and create a safe, respectful environment.
The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.
Requirements
A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
Availability to work a permanent roster line that may include multiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and overnight supports.
Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work) and an open driver's licence with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
