The opportunity
Our City Parks Irrigation team is in the market for qualified, experienced, self-motivated and hard-working individuals who are competent in the installation, maintenance and repairs to both commercial and domestic reticulation systems.
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for:
Undertaking maintenance of the City's parks, gardens and ovals irrigation systems in an productive and effective manner
Supervising minor irrigation works projects including the work of others
Supporting the City's water conservation objectives
Ensuring Work Health and Safety requirements are observed and adhered to
Providing high level customer service to internal and external customers
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Certificate III in Irrigation
A minimum of 3 years' experience in irrigation installation, repair and maintenance of commercial and domestic reticulation systems
Current unrestricted C class national driver's licence
Knowledge of centralised computer irrigation systems
Previous experience in a parks and gardens environment
Practical experience with hand and precision tools and minor plant
Sound calculation and problem solving
Ability to read and interpret maps, plans and diagrams




Knowledge of artesian bores and the operation of pumps and relative equipment
Basic design knowledge and quantity estimating
Work with limited supervision
Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
