The Role




Due to continued growth, Paxon is seeking an experienced
Manager or Senior Manager
to join our high performing Healthcare Advisory team in our
Perth office
.
This role is suited to an established corporate finance healthcare advisory professional who combines strong healthcare sector expertise with strong commercial, analytical and financial modelling capability.
You will lead complex client engagements, provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders and play a key role in developing the next generation of consultants within our team.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare clients and stakeholders across Australia, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, providing expert advice and leadership in various aspects of health system development and financing, including:
· Developing complex healthcare financial models that include:
Activity based funding (ABF)
Optimisation of funding sources (Medicare, Private health insurer funding, ABF funding)
Value engineering and cost optimisation
Horizontal and vertical financial analysis
Financial projections
Three-way financial models
Finance optimisation including debt-sizing based on cash flow available for debt service
Development of public sector compactor costing
Value for money assessment
· Leading complex healthcare advisory engagements from scoping through to delivery
· Develop business cases and feasibility studies, supported by comprehensive financial modelling
· Development of contemporary commercial contracting arrangements that consider:
Commercial risk allocation
Commercial principles
Development of payment model
· Leading health sector research, analysis and service planning activities
· Facilitating stakeholder workshops and executive discussions
· Leading and/or supporting negotiations based on advocating and defending commercial positions
· Preparing high-quality reports,



recommendations and presentations for senior decision-makers
· Managing and mentoring consultants and senior consultants
· Building and strengthening client relationships across the healthcare sector
· Supporting business development and growth initiatives within the Health Advisory practice.
This is the ideal role for you if you:
· Enjoy solving complex problems through a combination of research, analysis and sound judgement
· Have strong quantitative skills with advanced financial modelling to support business cases, feasibility studies, strategic reviews and / or major transformation initiatives
· Have significant experience within the healthcare sector, coming from either a consulting, advisory, government or industry background with have expertise in modelling activity, revenue and costs within this context
· Have a solid understanding of the Australian healthcare system and its funding, operational and policy setting including
Private hospitals
Public hospitals
Aged care (and aged care funding and reform)
Patient flow referral through the healthcare system
· Are confident engaging with and influencing senior executives and decision-makers to achieve results
· Have excellent written, communication and presentation skills
· Have experience managing, coaching and developing high-performing teams
· Are prepared to take ownership for your work and professional development and ask questions, rather than waiting for the answers to be given to you
