KAEFER is seeking an experienced SMP Superintedent to lead the delivery of structural, mechanical and piping works across major mining and industrial projects.
This role provides frontline leadership across multiple work fronts, ensuring protected, productive and high-quality execution while supporting supervisors and construction management to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day leadership across multiple SMP work fronts, supervisors and crews.
Drive a strong safety culture through visible field leadership, planning reviews and verification activities.
Translate construction plans into executable daily and weekly work plans.
Coordinate SMP activities across welding, mechanical, and insulation work scopes.
Monitor progress, productivity, earned hours and labour allocations.
Ensure works are executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, ITPs and quality requirements.
Manage workfront readiness including access, permits, isolations, materials, cranage and scaffolding.
Identify risks, constraints and constructability issues early and escalate appropriately.
Support change management,



variations and schedule impacts in conjunction with Project Engineers and Construction Managers.
Mentor Supervisors and Leading Hands to build strong leadership capability and succession.
About You
Proven experience as an SMP Superintendent or senior SMP Supervisor within mining or heavy industrial environments, ideally more than 5 years.
S26 qualification will be required
Strong safety leadership with a disciplined, hands-on approach to field execution.
Sound technical understanding of structural steel, mechanical installation, piping, welding and QA/QC processes.
Ability to manage multiple workfronts, priorities and stakeholder interfaces.
Clear communicator with the confidence to engage with clients and lead teams under pressure.
Must be currently based in Perth, WA
