The role
A great opportunity has come up to join our CIS team as a Business Analyst!
It's a 6 month secondment covering maternity leave and a fantastic chance to get some hands on experience in a dynamic team, grow your skill set and really make your mark at Auto & General.
As the CIS Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role within the CIS team, reporting to Senior Manager, Technology Solutions.
Your primary purpose will be to drive data-informed decision-making and operational efficiency across the CIS Business.
This encompasses the end-to-end lifecycle of reporting solutions, from strategic planning and requirements gathering to facilitating development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
A key aspect of this role involves project managing the successful delivery of new initiatives.
You will be instrumental in leading these projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
This includes defining project objectives, managing stakeholders, coordinating resources, and overseeing the entire project lifecycle from inception to successful deployment.
This is an in-office role, based in Kawana on the Sunshine Coast.
What you'll be doing

You will be accountable for:
Data Analysis & Insights:
Conduct in-depth data analysis, including daily extracts and manipulations, to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and compile comprehensive summaries and comparisons for strategic decision-making.
Data Integrity & Quality Assurance:
Ensure the ongoing integrity and accuracy of data, promptly reporting any inconsistencies and conducting regular system testing and analysis to maintain high data quality.
Process Optimisation & System Understanding:
Develop and implement efficient processes and systems to maximise performance, leveraging a thorough understanding of the end-to-end processes of all of the CIS operating systems.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting Strategy:
Collaborate effectively with the leadership team and service providers to define and deliver the required level of reporting, building highly effective working relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure strict compliance with all industry-specific Acts, Codes, and Regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Risk Management & Culture:
Proactively identify and report potential risks or inadequate controls related to compliance or operational risks, championing a robust culture of risk and compliance across the division.
Reporting Solutions:
Lead end-to-end delivery of management information reports, gathering requirements, maintaining, and improving reports.
Policy & Training Compliance:
Maintain continuous awareness, understanding, and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including the timely completion of mandatory training.
What experience you'll bring
Proven Experience:
Demonstrated experience (e.g., 2+ years) in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Project Analyst role, with a robust focus on reporting, data analysis, and project delivery.
Reporting & BI Tools:
Advanced proficiency in reporting tools and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Excel, Quicksite) for data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and visualisation.
Data Analysis:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in identifying trends, patterns, and insights from complex datasets.
Requirements Gathering:
Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements from diverse stakeholders, translating them into technical specifications for solutions.
System Knowledge:
Experience working with and understanding end-to-end processes of various operating systems and business applications.
Stakeholder Management:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build rapport, influence, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
Problem Solving
: A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
Compliance & Risk Awareness:
Understanding of compliance frameworks, data governance principles, and operational risk management.
