Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll be a trusted advisor to the Executive Team, helping guide strategic decisions while ensuring our legal, governance and commercial frameworks support sustainable growth.You'll play a key role in partnering with leaders across the business to navigate complexity, manage risk and enable confident decision-making as we continue to grow one of Australia's leading Build to Rent platforms.We're committed to attracting exceptional talent and recognise that flexibility looks different for everyone.
We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week) arrangements.What you'll do:Provide strategic legal advice across corporate, commercial, property, development and operational mattersLead Apt's legal and governance function, ensuring legal strategy supports business growth and long-term objectivesOversee company secretarial responsibilities, board governance and statutory complianceLead the review, negotiation and management of commercial contracts, development agreements, leases and transaction documentationSupport acquisitions, developments, investment transactions and financing activities from a legal and governance perspectiveIdentify, assess and manage legal and commercial risk, providing practical, commercially focused solutionsPartner with Exec utive, Development, Investment, Operations and Finance teams to support strategic decision-makingManage external legal advisers to deliver high-quality,



cost-effective legal servicesStrengthen governance frameworks, policies and processes that support a growing businessHelp shape a culture of accountability, integrity and informed decision-making across the organisationWhat we're looking for:Qualified Australian legal practitioner with a current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)Extensive post-admission experience within a leading law firm and/or in-house legal environmentStrong experience across corporate, commercial, property and governance lawDemonstrated experience supporting complex property, development, investment or infrastructure transactionsStrong understanding of corporate governance, company secretarial responsibilities and regulatory complianceCommercial judgement with the ability to balance legal risk and business outcomesExceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisationA practical, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to provide transparent, pragmatic adviceExperience working with exec utive leadership teams and boards highly regardedPrevious Company Secretary experience or exposure to board governance will be highly regardedAt Apt, we're creating more than homes.
