Parklife Metro has been awarded the Sydney Metro SSTOM package, a $5 billion Public‐Private Partnership (PPP) project that will transform Western Sydney.
This major infrastructure package includes:
Six brand‐new metro stations from St Marys to the recent Aerotropolis
12 new metro trains and core rail systems
A state‐of‐the‐art maintenance and stabling facility at Orchard Hills
The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our growing teams across the SSTOM project.
The role of the Project Manager is to ensure that an effective and productive liaison is established with respect to all aspects of the commercial office delivery, between the design team, project/site team, commercial, client teams and supply chain putting the expertise of all to the best possible use.
The Manager will liaise with the Project Director and Design Manager and will be instrumental in coordinating and guiding the consultant team and supply chain through the delivery of the packages to mitigate design risk and maximise value to the client/business.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all work is planned in advance of the actual work commencing: this can be achieved by conducting one or more of the following;
Quality Control & Document Review
Project Logistics and H&S; Plan
EHS Plan
Method Statement
Managing and directing all the planning and schedule functions for the SSTOM project
Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff
Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary
Collecting as‐built information, assessing progress data supplied by others and performing visual inspections
Assembling data from a variety of sources (i.e. benchmarking content, contract documents, logistics plans, construction project management team,



architects and engineers, clients, sub‐contractors)
Assessing project impacts and/or delays, preparing Time Impact Analysis
Leading project teams in preparation of Project Planning & Status Reports; ensuring all planning and scheduling activities such as schedule development, logistics plans, update progress reporting and problem analysis activities comply with client and SSTOM requirements
About You
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Project/Construction Management
Minimum 10 years' experience and demonstrated ability in delivering projects on time and on budget
Experience working on large‐scale Construction/Infrastructure projects
Demonstrate personal leadership, integrity and creativity on achieving the project deadlines
Demonstrates confidence and technical knowledge and experience in the process of project delivery
Operational expertise and capability in both the design and construction process
Client focused, understanding requirements and feasibility
Adaptive and disciplined for time management, ability to work on own initiative
Experienced in communicating technical information at all levels; both technical and non‐technical to customer/client, peers and stakeholders
Good interpersonal skills including written, verbal and presentation communication skills




Thorough appreciation of building costs and programming issues based on experience thorough on‐site experience
Understanding of programme duration and sequencing of works of relevant aspects of construction
Experienced with and capable of being part of a bid team and undertaking pre‐construction planning
Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and lead the construction delivery team and construction workforce
