About the Role – Staff Development Midwife

As a Staff Development Midwife, you will use
advanced clinical experience

within a complex healthcare environment to care for patients and families within WNHS.
You will:
Provide senior clinical leadership and expert, evidence‐based midwifery care
Mentor, coach and support midwifery staff to build capability and confidence
Foster a positive, respectful and high‐performing team culture
Lead quality improvement, clinical governance and patient safety initiatives
Collaborate with multidisciplinary leaders to enhance service delivery
Assisting the Department of Nursing and Education with study days and compliance reports

King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH)
WA's only tertiary maternity and gynaecological hospital
Over 6,000 births each year
Statewide referral centre for high‐risk pregnancies
Home of specialised services including Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pregnancy Choice and Abortion Care, Pregnancy Loss Service, Women and Newborn Drug and Alcohol Service, Adolescent and Diabetes services caring for the high-risk population in WA.
Home to a state‐of‐the‐art Special Care Nursery
Comprehensive gynaecological services supporting around 5,000 women annually
WNHS also manages key statewide programs, including BreastScreen WA, and other specialist services supporting women and babies across the state.
