It's designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses.The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago while doing commercial deliveries.

We believe that the best way to solve complicated agile problems is collaboratively and respectfully.Job OverviewThe Service Technician I supports fleet reliability by performing preventive maintenance, structured diagnostics, and component-level repairs on Serve's delivery robots.
This role is designed for early-career technicians who bring foundational technical experience and are building proficiency within Serve's systems and standards.
Technician I operates with guidance on complex issues and is expected to develop toward independent troubleshooting capability.This role directly impacts fleet uptime, repair quality, and customer experience through consistent execution and documentation discipline.Job DutiesPerform basic to moderate hardware repairs, component swaps,



and preventive maintenance in accordance with established SOPsExecute structured diagnostic procedures using approved hardware and software toolsConduct inspections and validation testing to confirm repair effectivenessPerform component-level replacements (motors, sensors, harnesses, mechanical assemblies, etc.)Escalate complex or recurring failures to higher-level techniciansAccurately document all work in MaintainX, including detailed notes, photos, and supporting evidenceEnsure repair documentation supports engineering review and traceabilityMaintain parts usage accuracy and support inventory trackingMaintain organized workstations, tools, and component storage areasFollow all safety procedures and proper tool-handling standardsMeet defined quality and throughput expectations for assigned workIdentify repeat repair patterns and flag potential systemic concernsProvide feedback on process clarity and repair documentation standardsParticipate in required technical and safety trainingExperience, Qualifications, & SkillsRequired Experience, Qualifications, and Skills1–3+ years of hands-on technical experience in electro-mechanical, automotive, electronics, robotics, aerospace,



or similar industriesDemonstrated ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshootingFamiliarity with standard diagnostic tools (multimeter, power supply, general shop tools)Experience working in shop, lab, or field-service environmentsStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyAbility to follow structured troubleshooting processesFlexibility to work weekends as part of a 5-day schedulePreferred Experience, Qualifications, and SkillsTrade school certification or technical training program completionExperience with issue-tracking systems such as JiraExposure to robotics, automation, or integrated mechanical-electrical systemsSkills Scope & Decision AuthorityOperates independently on basic and moderate repairsFollows established troubleshooting frameworksEscalates complex diagnostics or systemic issuesNo leadership or workflow coordination authorityAdditional InformationThis role requires regular hands-on work with robots, tools, and lab equipment.
Physical requirements may include lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in both lab and field environments.Leveling: While this posting is written for a Service Technician I, we are also considering candidates for Service Technician II and Service Technician III.
Final level will be determined based on each candidate's technical experience, demonstrated troubleshooting ability, ownership of increasingly complex repairs, and overall alignment with the role.Candidates with more advanced experience in robotics, electro-mechanical systems, diagnostics, or fleet maintenance may be considered for a higher-level position with expanded responsibilities and greater independence.
