Adelaide Festival Centre operates four major venues in the
Adelaide CBD - Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse, Space Theatre
and Her Majesty's Theatre.
About the role
With an eventful year of shows scheduled, the Adelaide Festival
Centre Production Department is growing and requires a customer
focussed Production Assistant who is passionate about arts and
culture to join the diverse and dynamic Production Department.
Reporting to the Head of Department, Production, this
predominantly office-based role provides day-to-day administrative
and operational support to the Production Coordinators and the
broader Production team.
The position supports the planning and
delivery of productions, festivals, events, and associated
operational and administrative activities across Adelaide Festival
Centre.
It contributes to the delivery of world-class technical
production services by ensuring high standards of technical
excellence, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness are
consistently maintained.
A sound understanding of the theatre, performing arts, and live
entertainment industries, including their terminology, traditions,
and protocols in addition to a strong administrative skillset.
Experience working within Adelaide Festival Centre or a comparable
performing arts centre, entertainment venue, or major cultural
institution will be highly regarded.




The vacancies will be offered on a full-time fixed term contract
of 3 years.

Key
Responsibilities
Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of Department -
Production and the Production Administration Team:
Liaise with venue hirers to determine their needs and
develop creative solutions that provide a balance between the
hirers and Adelaide Festival Centre requirements
Assist with the preparation of quotations for productions &
events, monitor progress and review settlements
Assist with the development and coordination of schedules
for AFC Festivals, including pre and post festival planning,
all infrastructure set-up and removal, logistics of all events
and activities in the centre and external
Assist with and support the coordination of meetings with
staff and clients and advise on production and staffing
requirements
Liaise with Adelaide Festival Centre Programming department
to assist with delivery of Festival Centre presented
programming including InSpace, Education and Engagement, Our
Mob, Curatorial, DreamBIG, Cabaret, OzAsia
Liaise with Heads of Department, Production Crews and
Production Coordinators to ensure hirers are allocated
appropriate staff to ensure outcomes are met within budget
requirements
Assist Production Coordinators with the delivery of
festival and events and other presentations as directed
Skills and Experience
Possess effective communication skills to ensure
instructions and standards are communicated, understood and
implemented
Sound project and time management skills
Ability to undertake relevant research, plan and deliver
events
Ability to maintain working relationships at professional
level
Experience working well within a team setting with the




ability to take responsibility for decisions made
Successfully completed or obtained RPL status for Cert IV
or Diploma in an industry relevant qualification (Highly
desirable)
A sound understanding of WHS and risk management principles
and how to apply them within an arts production workplace
(Desirable)
