Make a difference in the lives of young Tasmanians
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Employment Coach to join the Glenorchy Jobs Hub team.
This rewarding role provides employment, education and training support to young people aged *****, helping them navigate career pathways, identify and pursue suitable opportunities, and build the skills and confidence to transition into employment, apprenticeships, traineeships, further education or training.
Working closely with young people, employers, schools, training providers and community partners, you will play a key role in strengthening pathways between local youth and meaningful employment opportunities.
As a Youth Employment Coach, you will provide individualised coaching and support to young people, assisting them to identify and achieve their employment, training and education goals.
You will deliver practical job readiness support, build strong stakeholder relationships, and connect participants with opportunities that lead to sustainable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide employment coaching and career pathway support to young people aged *****.
Assist participants to identify employment, education and training goals and develop achievable pathways.
Deliver job readiness support including resume development, job applications, interview preparation and workplace readiness skills.
Monitor participant progress and provide post-placement support to promote sustainable employment outcomes.
Participate in events, career expos and community activities that promote youth employment and career opportunities.
Engage with schools to develop and deliver programs that prepare young people for industry-relevant education, training and employment opportunities.




Connect participants with internal and external training opportunities and pre-employment programs.
Collaborate with schools, Registered Training Organisations, employment services, government agencies and community organisations to strengthen youth pathways.
Build and maintain robust relationships with employers and industry representatives to identify workforce needs and employment opportunities.
Work with partner organisations to address barriers to participation and improve employment and training outcomes for young people.
About You
You are passionate about supporting young people and have the ability to build trusted relationships that empower individuals to achieve their goals.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
Demonstrated experience working with young people ****** years) in employment services, education, training, youth work, community services or a related field.
Strong understanding of youth employment pathways and barriers, with experience coaching, mentoring or supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with employers, schools, training providers and community organisations.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.




Ability to build trusting relationships using trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred approaches.
Strong organisational and self-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and deliver outcomes.
Desirable Qualification
Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services, Career Development, Employment Services, Education, Human Services or a related field.
Experience working in workforce development, recruitment, employment services or school-to-work transition programs.
Knowledge of Tasmanian youth employment, education and training landscape.
Position Details
Fixed term until 30 September ****
Full time – 76 hours per fortnight
Annual Salary –$87,******
