Your Position at St John of God Geelong Hospital
We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified Registered Nurses to join our highly skilled team on 2 North at St John of God Geelong Hospital.
This is a permanent part-time position, 30hrs per week with hours negotiable with the successful candidate.
This is a rotating roster of day and night shifts.
2 North is a 30-bed Orthopaedic and Urology surgical ward, providing specialised care to patients following a diverse range of surgical procedures.
As part of the team, you will care for post-operative patients following orthopaedic procedures including joint replacements, ligament repairs and fracture repairs, as well as urological procedures ranging from kidney stone extraction through to major robotic surgery.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your surgical nursing skills while working alongside an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team.
You will play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care throughout each patient's surgical journey and recovery.
The Position
Assesses, plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and across the hospital.
Provides patient education and acts as a clinical resource where appropriate.
Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including the orientation and preceptorship of new staff.
Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a collaborative and patient-focused Registered Nurse who can work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
You will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing education, professional development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.




Previous experience within a hospital environment will be highly regarded, with experience in orthopaedic and/or urology nursing advantageous.
You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality patient care and positive patient experiences.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
The Advantages:
Salary: $85,480 - $107,881 (pro date for part time), plus12% superannuationPermanent part-time role, up to 60 hours a fortnight.
