Job Description

Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to standard recipes, with correct glassware, garnish and presentationCraft signature cocktails with creativity and knowledge of current beverage trendsRecommend cocktails, wines and beers that enhance the guest experience, and promote seasonal offerings and specialsDeliver friendly, qualified service in line with Sofitel brand standards, anticipating guest needs and handling feedback promptlyTake orders accurately and promptly, using suggestive selling to maximise salesPresent bills and process payments securely and accuratelyMaintain stock levels through regular inventory checks, control usage and minimise wastageOperate the MICROS POS system and report any discrepancies to SupervisorsKeep the bar and service areas clean and equipment in good working order, in compliance with health, safety and liquor lawsSet up and pack down the venue, and restock to stay service-ready throughout the shiftWork closely with kitchen, floor and management to keep service running smoothly, attending briefings as required
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:




Bartending experience in a hotel, bar or restaurant, ideally in a luxury or high-volume venueCurrent Queensland RSA certificationSolid cocktail, wine and beer knowledge, and the confidence to make a recommendationSpeed and accuracy through a busy service without losing the warmthStrong personal presentation and a luxury attitude — humble excellence, elevated emotional intelligence and distinguished presenceOpenness to feedback and a genuine interest in developing your craftAvailability across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
