About the Opportunity
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation's (YYNAC) Business Unit operations and assets.
This role is accountable for executing day-to-day functions, managing resources, and optimising workflows to achieve the best strategic and commercial outcomes for YYNAC.
Working closely with the CEO and CFO, the Operations Manager translates the YYNAC Strategic Plan ********* into sustainable, compliant, and highly efficient operational realities that support the overarching objective of financial self-determination.
Reporting to the CEO, some key responsibilities will include:
Leading the execution of operational plans, evaluating new business opportunities and working closely with the CEO to secure infrastructure funding to drive sustainable revenue and economic self-determination.
Partnering strategically with the CFO and Department Managers to ensure financial discipline across all Business Units.
Working closely with the Executive Team and Board to convert strategic goals into clear workflows, while delivering regular operational and compliance reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Mentor and upskill management teams to foster future-oriented leadership while partnering with HR to manage workforce operations, maintain OHS compliance, and ensure a culturally safe workplace.
Secure new and top-up grant streams, manage the operational budget against forecasts, and collaborate with the CFO and government bodies on reporting and acquittals.
Lead negotiations with State and Federal agencies to advocate for YYNAC's interests, while preparing high-level ministerial briefings and presentation documents for the CEO.
About You
Extensive Senior Operations or Program Management experience.
Deep knowledge of Yorta Yorta governance structures, with a proven ability to respect family lines and navigate community consultation.
Strong track record negotiating and advocating with senior government personnel, statutory authorities, and local councils.
Proven experience in budgeting, business planning, policy development, and managing day-to-day operations.
Exceptional coaching skills to lead diverse teams, paired with high-level written and verbal communication for all stakeholders.
Decisive, practical problem-solving skills with a calm, adaptable approach to shifting timelines and changing environments.
Excellent organisation, time management, and proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
Experience in a Not-for-Profit or purpose-driven enterprise highly regarded.
