An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and dynamic AO5 Business Manager join the foundational senior leadership team at Woodford Youth Education and Training Centre, playing a key role in establishing the Centre ahead of its opening in ****.
As the Business Manager, you will support the delivery of a range of corporate services, contribute to educational management activities and assist in leading systemic change by actively supporting the school leadership team and school community from the ground up.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality human resources administration, including the supervision of school support staff, while helping to establish the HR systems, processes and practices that will underpin the Centre's operations for years to come.
About the School:
Woodford Youth Education and Training Centre (WYETC) is located within the new Woodford Youth Detention Centre on Neurum Road, Woodford, set to open in ****.

Your Opportunity:
As the Business Manager you will manage the delivery of a range of corporate services,



support educational management activities and lead the development of systemic change by actively supporting the school leadership team and school community at Woodford Education and Training Centre.
You will oversee the delivery of administrative, financial and human resources support, including the supervision of school support staff and influencing stakeholders on sensitive issues, playing a foundational role in establishing these functions ahead of the Centre's **** opening.
The Business Manager reports to the Principal and liaises with the Deputy Principal, Heads of Department, or Curriculum Coordinators where applicable.
Your Role:
Responsibilities include:
Demonstrate considerable autonomy in ensuring business service outcomes are achieved, leading diverse teams and modelling service delivery and expectations as Woodford Education and Training Centre stands up its operations from the ground up.
Lead the provision of executive and administrative support services—managing multiple tasks and diverse work groups amid conflicting priorities and timeframes, interpreting departmental policy, and overseeing training and professional development for school support staff—while establishing the processes and work practices that will shape the Centre's efficiency and effectiveness for years to come.
Lead and manage human resources for school support staff and undertake workforce planning across a full breadth of HR activities—recruitment, induction, training, vacancy processing, skill gap analysis,



performance management and rehabilitation processes.
Partner with the Principal to lead change within a newly forming support staff team, ensuring HR practices align with current standards and conditions from day one.
Drive financial planning for the Centre, developing, monitoring and reviewing the annual budget, reporting regularly to the school leadership team, and ensuring financial activities comply with legislation and policy.
Lead facilities management advice and project management, evaluating new works and renovation projects alongside the Principal, negotiating with contractors, and managing Minor Works, grounds maintenance, and grounds improvement budgets—helping shape the physical foundations of a brand-new school.
Build networks with other Business Managers, staff, and community representatives to ensure Woodford's corporate services meet best practice from establishment.
This role assumes a high level of interpersonal and organisational expertise, including the ability to consult, interpret, analyse, and adapt processes within the specific context of the school community.
