About The Role
As a Pathology Collector, you will collect blood and non-blood samples while delivering a positive, professional and caring experience to every patient.
You'll play an important role in ensuring samples are handled accurately and efficiently to support timely diagnosis and care.
Key responsibilities:
Collect blood and other samples with care, accuracy and attention to detailProvide a welcoming,



calm and qualified experience for patientsPrepare and package specimens for transport in line with proceduresMaintain accurate records and follow required processesSupport smooth daily operations across the collection site
About You
Experienced Pathology Collectors are highly regarded, however this role can suit people from a range of backgrounds.
Some of our most successful Collectors have come from working in aged care, disability support, nursing or in customer-facing roles where they have experience supporting people and providing a great service.

Qualifications And Experience
Previous experience in pathology collection is desirable but not essentialCertificate III in Pathology Collection is desirable but not essentialA background in healthcare (e.g. aged care, disability, nursing) or strong customer-facing experience
Requirements
A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one prior to commencementAbility to provide evidence of immunisation requirements including Hepatitis B

Training
This role requires completion of a 6-week paid training program designed to build the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in collections.
This requires a commitment to full-time hours for the first 2 weeks, followed by a minimum of 25 hours per week.
Training is delivered internally as part of our Healius Academy onboarding program and may be accelerated based on previous experience.
