Horticulturalist / Vegetation Specialist
The Royal Perth Golf Club, is a prestigious Club with a rich history and commitment to maintaining a world-class golf course, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Horticulturalist and or Australian Native Vegetation Specialist to join our Agronomy Team on a full time basis.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual who has completed a Certificate III in Horticulture (or an equivalent qualification).
The ideal candidate will have experience in ornamental and native plant care, landscape and garden maintenance, weed management, and environmental best practice, along with knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S;) and Environmental Procedures.
As a Horticulturalist / Vegetation Specialist at Royal Perth Golf Club, your primary responsibility will be the ongoing management and enhancement of the Clubs native vegetation areas.
As part of the Course Master Plan, we now have 3 hectares of "native health".
You will play an important role in preserving and improving the naturalisation of these areas which makes Royal Perth Golf Club such a unique and great place to work.
Responsibilities:
Manage, enhance and improve all native vegetation areas around the golf course.
Undertake weed control, planting, pruning and general horticultural maintenance.
Run and manage native planting and revegetation projects.
Monitor and control invasive plant species.
Occasionally assist with the daily set-up and presentation of the golf course.
Work collaboratively within the agronomy team to ensure the overall excellence of the golf course.
You will Have:
Minimum Cert III in Horticulture or similar.
Experience in horticultural,
land conservation and rehabilitation roles.
A genuine interest in Western Australian native plants and environmental preservation.
Willingness to undertake general greenkeeping and golf course maintenance duties when required.
Experience operating horticultural tools, equipment or turf maintenance equipment (advantageous but not essential)
Ability to work early mornings and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, capable to work autonomously and within a team.
Australian 'C' Class drivers' licence.
Provisional or Learners permit accepted.
Australian working rights.
