We are seeking a talented and experienced /u003cb/u003eSenior Finance Officer/Office Manager/u003c/b/u003e to join our team at our Mackay, QLD office on a /u003cb/u003efull-time basis/u003c/b/u003e. This is a strategic position that will be fundamental to the efficient operation of our office and the financial health of the business.

You will oversee all accounting functions, manage day-to-day office operations, and provide critical financial management support to the leadership team. This role offers significant responsibility and the opportunity to make a real impact on the growth and success of Haber Excavations.

/u003cb/u003eKey responsibilities/u003c/b/u003e

Oversee all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments

Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations and monthly financial reports

Oversee payroll administration, including processing wages, superannuation contributions and compliance with employment legislation

Prepare and monitor budgets, variance reports and cash flow forecasts to support business planning and decision-making

Manage office operations, including administration tasks, scheduling, correspondence and general day-to-day coordination

Maintain financial systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and implementing process improvements





Assist with tax compliance and preparation of financial statements for external reporting and audit purposes

Supervise and support office and administrative staff as required

Liaise with external accountants, auditors and financial service providers

/u003cb/u003eWhat we're looking for/u003c/b/u003e

At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance, accounting, and administration role preferably in a civil construction, or similar trade-based industry

Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, also experience with ATO portals

Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, GST compliance, payroll processing and financial reporting standards

Experience managing BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, Work Cover, superannuation and ATO obligations

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy setting

Outstanding organisational and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels

Reliability and integrity in handling sensitive financial information and confidential business matters

Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying operational efficiencies

Experience in office management and supervisory responsibilities is highly desirable
