About the Prospect
The School of Business and Law is seeking a Lecturer in Law to join its growing law discipline at City Campus in the heart of Perth's CBD. This is an opportunity to build an academic career within a school that holds AACSB International accreditation and is embedded in the professional and business precinct of the city.
The successful candidate will coordinate, develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate units, contributing to a curriculum that prepares graduates for professional legal practice. They will bring contemporary educational approaches to their teaching, including flexible delivery suited to adult learners, and will play an active role in curriculum development within the discipline.
Alongside teaching, the role offers scope to build a research profile, supported by opportunities for grant applications, student supervision and collaboration with academic, professional and industry partners. The successful candidate will also contribute to the collegial life of the School, working closely with colleagues to strengthen networks within the discipline and gaining exposure to university governance.
About you
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Laws and a PhD in a related discipline from a recognised Australian university, together with industry experience in law. They will bring a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and a track record of applying reflective practice to continually improve their performance.
They will have begun to establish a research profile, evidenced by publications and conference presentations, with a clear trajectory toward sustained research output and, over time, recognised standing within the discipline. Experience engaging with community, industry or professional partners in a teaching or research context will be highly regarded,
as will experience supervising research students.
