Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

About the Role
Launch your legal career with the Coroners Court of Victoria and contribute to work that makes a real difference to the Victorian community.
As a Graduate Solicitor in the Legal Services team, you will support Coroners and experienced legal practitioners in the investigation of deaths and fires, helping advance CCOV's vision of reducing preventable deaths. Working closely with Coroner's Solicitors, Senior Legal Counsel and Principal In-House Solicitors, you will gain exposure to a broad range of legal, research and case management work in a unique judicial environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of coronial matters for inquest.
- Reviewing, analysing and summarising complex briefs of evidence.
- Conducting legal research and preparing research memoranda.
- Drafting legal correspondence, court documents and findings under supervision.
- Maintaining accurate case records and documentation throughout investigations.
- Supporting case management and administrative processes.
- Building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attending court hearings and meetings as required.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will be a legal skilled with exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will also demonstrate the ability to:
- Apply critical judgement to undertake legal research and analysis and prepare advice in relation to legal matters.
- Effectively manage a caseload of matters ensuring timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
It is a requirement that the incumbent is admitted to practise (or eligible to be admitted) as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
