Sharp & Carter are partnering with a large, established Western Australian organisation to appoint a Senior Award & Employment Specialist on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll compliance or industrial relations professional to join a collaborative People team during a period of significant organisational focus on employment governance and compliance.
Working closely with the People team and Payroll, you will provide specialist advice on modern awards, employment conditions and legislative obligations, while supporting the review and enhancement of employment frameworks and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on modern award interpretation, employment conditions, classifications, superannuation obligations and employment legislation.
- Partner with the People team and Payroll to resolve complex award and payroll-related matters.
- Conduct award and employment compliance reviews, identifying risks and recommending practical solutions.
- Analyse payroll, remuneration and workforce data to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across employment, payroll and industrial relations processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Qualification in Human Resources, Business, Accounting or a related discipline is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in payroll compliance, award interpretationor industrial relations.
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and modern awards.
- Experience reviewing employment frameworks, classifications and award compliance.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex awards and workforce data.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with payroll systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to provide practicaladvice.
