Opportunity for a trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established national dealership at its Burnie branch.
- Work on a premium truck fleet and heavy equipment for a national dealer
- 8-4pm Monday to Friday + OT available
- Ongoing OEM training and career development

The role
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you'll join the Burnie workshop team and carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs across a varied fleet of highway trucks and some mobile plant.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using computer-based diagnostic systems.
- Carrying out breakdown repairs and major component rebuilds.
- Attending occasional field breakdowns when required.
- Completing job cards and service reports accurately.
- Liaising professionally with customers and internal departments.
- Following all company and customer safety procedures.
- Participating in ongoing factory training and development.
- Joining the 24-hour call-out roster approximately one week in every six.
Your skills and experience
You'll hold a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology or another relevant mechanical trade qualification.
You'll also bring:
- Previous experience in a heavy diesel mechanical role.
- Robust diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Sound electrical diagnostic capabilities.
- A high level of attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.
- A genuine commitment to safety and following procedures.
- Availability to participate in the on-call roster.
- An HR driver's licence and forklift licence are preferred but not essential.
