Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the F0 Orthopaedic Ward on a two-week contract from 17 August to 30 August 2026. This is a Grade 5 position offering $55.65 to $70.82 per hour, with a rotating roster of 8 and 12-hour shifts across a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight. Preferred Requirements





- Minimum two years of clinical experience in a practice setting
- Current clinical competence and currency in orthopaedic nursing
- Proficiency with ieMR (electronic medical records system)
- Ability to work effectively across rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a ward team

Preferred Qualifications

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Previous experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
- Demonstrated experience in an Australian orthopaedic or acute care setting
