Weipa Integrated Health Service is seeking an experienced Clinical Midwife to join its Midwifery Group Practice on a contract basis from 10 August to 27 September 2026. This is a seven-week opportunity to work within a specialist midwifery team in Far North Queensland, offering a salary of AUD72.50 to AUD81.50 per hour. The role is ideal for a midwife looking to contribute to a team-oriented, woman-centred model of care in a regional health setting.

- Lead continuity of care within a Midwifery Group Practice model, supporting women through pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period
- AUD72.50 to AUD81.50 per hour, contract position, 7 weeks
- Work alongside a specialist midwifery team in Weipa, with scope to participate in portfolio and audit management as a senior clinician

Preferred Requirements





- Minimum three years' experience working within a Midwifery Group Practice model
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP) and demonstrated competency in cardiotocography (CTG)
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation and Advanced MEP (or equivalent) qualifications
- Recent hands-on birthing experience and readiness to engage in clinical audit and portfolio responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

- Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
- Epidural competency (highly desirable)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and engagement with midwifery standards and guidelines
