Melbourne
MCM Construct is part of MCM Logistics (mcml.com.au), a nationally operating Australian transport and logistics group. We move complex construction and infrastructure loads, run major project logistics, and deliver general freight and FMCG solutions across the country. We're growing fast — and our operations function needs to match.
Due to rapid growth, we have a leadership opportunity, for a
Night Transport Supervisor
to oversee safe, efficient and compliant transport operations. The role is based in office at Altona, full-time Monday to Friday with weekend phone support.
Night Transport Manager
— 18:00 to 06:00
Key Duties
Manage day-to-day on-road transport operations across multiple yards, ensuring loading targets, dispatch timelines and compliance objectives are consistently met.
Verify mass, dimension and structural security on every load (including oversize/OSOM permit loads) and sign off load restraint against the engineered restraint diagram.
Administer driver, vehicle and permit compliance, fit-for-duty and fatigue/work-diary checks, with real-time data entry.
Coordinate equipment, drivers and subcontractors to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime.
Lead incident and discrepancy resolution — halting and escalating non-conforming loads — and conduct shift handovers and gate-release sign-offs.
Prepare handover, issue and performance reports to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
5+ years of demonstrated experience in transport supervision or operations leadership within logistics or heavy haulage (oversize and precast experience highly regarded).
Strong knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, load restraint, mass and dimension, OSOM/permits and fatigue management.
Proven ability to coordinate fleet and yard operations, interpret operational data and implement measurable improvements.
Highly developed problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced workplace, including the ability to work autonomously on night shift.
Effective leadership and communication skills, with a track record of developing high-performing driver teams.
Why MCM
We're fast growing — new contracts, recent capability, current markets. You'll have real scope, direct access to leadership, and the chance to shape operations across a national transport company. If you want to step up and lead, this is the role.
