The NDIS Community Programs Coordinator is responsible for establishing, coordinating and facilitating Tardiss' Community Programs in Townsville.
The role focuses on developing and delivering engaging group and centre-based activities that support participants to achieve their NDIS goals, increase community participation, build independence, develop social connections and enhance wellbeing.
As this is a newly established program, the Coordinator will play a key role in program development, participant engagement, community partnership development and ongoing program growth.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development
- Establish and grow the Community Programs.
- Develop and maintain activity schedules and calendars.
- Create innovative and meaningful activities aligned to participant goals.
- Promote the program and encourage participant engagement.
- Monitor outcomes and identify opportunities for program improvement.
Program Delivery
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate group and centre-based activities.
- Support participants to build skills, confidence and community connections.
- Ensure activities are inclusive, secure and participant-focused.
- Adapt activities to suit varying support needs and abilities, ensuring participant-centred delivery.
Community Engagement
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organisations, businesses and service providers.
- Promote participant inclusion and access to community opportunities.
- Represent Tardiss at relevant community events and networking opportunities.
Participant Support
- Participate in intake and onboarding processes as required.
- Build positive relationships with participants, families and carers.
- Work collaboratively with support teams to support participant goals.
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records, attendance and activity documentation.
- Complete required reporting within designated timeframes.
- Comply with organisational policies, NDIS Practice Standards and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and contribute to safe work practices.

About the Candidate
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence (Class C).
- Access to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience working within the disability, community services or NDIS sectors.
- Experience coordinating, facilitating or delivering programs or activities.
- Experience facilitating group-based activities for people with disability.
- Experience establishing or developing programs or initiatives.
- Knowledge of NDIS Capacity Building and Community Participation supports.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and community networking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with NDIS client management or CRM systems.
- Strong organisational, administrative and reporting skills.
- Demonstrated experience in safeguarding and supporting vulnerable individuals within the NDIS framework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Disability, Individual Support, Recreation, Community Development or a related field.
