The Role
This role supports the law firm’s financial planning, reporting, and performance analysis functions. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly financial reports and variance analysis for partners, practice groups, and firm management.
- Analysing revenue, work in progress, debtors, utilisation, realisation, recoverability, lock‑up, and matter profitability.
- Supporting the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including preparation of financial models and assumptions.
- Providing analysis on business unit, office, partner, client, and matter performance.
- Monitoring key financial metrics and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improved financial performance.
- Maintaining and improving reporting templates, data quality, and financial analysis processes.
- Generating ad‑hoc analysis and reports as required by the Head of Finance and Financial Manager.
- Liaising with various departments to gather required financial information.
- Ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all financial reporting.
- Other ad‑hoc duties.
Qualifications
We are looking for a Financial Analyst with experience in legal or professional services. Candidates should:
- Have previous experience in a Financial or Business Analyst role.
- Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accurate records.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop effective partnerships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the ability to liaise with people at all levels and build strong relationships.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and collaborate well within a team.
- Adhere to confidentiality requirements at all times.
