About the Role

This is a culture, community, and brand uplift role, not a conventional marketing job. As our Field Marketing Specialist, you’ll carry a dual mandate: introducing El Jannah to new Melbourne communities the right way, and actively uplifting how the brand shows up across every existing Victorian store. Melbourne customers like the food, but they don’t yet love the brand the way Sydney does. They can’t articulate what makes El Jannah different, and they don’t yet feel the Lebanese hospitality that defines who we are. Closing that gap, suburb by suburb and store by store, is what this role exists to do. You’ll build genuine local relationships, run culturally credible activations, and be the brand’s eyes and ears inside Victorian stores, working with franchisees and operations to make sure the in‑store experience matches the brand promise everywhere.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Act as custodian of how El Jannah is introduced to and perceived in Melbourne, protecting the brand’s equity as it enters a new market
- Translate El Jannah’s Western Sydney origins into a genuine Melbourne context, never replacing it with something generic or corporate
- Plan and run grassroots, community‑led activations including football watch‑alongs, school and community partnerships, nightlife and event adjacency, and cultural community tie‑ins
- Build real, lasting relationships with local clubs, schools, cultural organisations, and grassroots networks across Melbourne




- Coordinate local area marketing across Melbourne stores, tailoring activity to each neighbourhood and community
- Support current VIC store openings, connecting each one to local community and cultural activity so it lands well from day one
- Develop and maintain deep, suburb‑level knowledge of every El Jannah store in Victoria, including community demographics, foot traffic, competitor landscape, and local identity
- Be the person who can speak immediately and specifically to any VIC store when it’s raised, including trading context and brand perception
- Track and report on community engagement, activation performance, and brand sentiment across the VIC market
- Share local insight with the broader Marketing team to refine the approach as the VIC footprint scales

What We’re Looking For

- A genuine connection to El Jannah and what it represents beyond the food, ideally with a Western Sydney and/or Lebanese‑Australian cultural background, though this is not essential
- A real understanding of how El Jannah built its reputation in Western Sydney, not just what El Jannah sells
- A track record in grassroots, underground, or community‑led activation, not traditional or conventional marketing
- An understanding of the intersection of sport, music, mass cultural affiliation, and identity, and how food connects people
- Experience building authentic relationships with clubs, community groups, and cultural networks
- Deep cultural fluency and credibility with the communities El Jannah connects to
- Creativity and initiative to build activations from the ground up, often without a template
- Sound judgement to protect the brand and recognise what feels authentic versus corporate
- Comfortable on the ground and in community settings, coordinating multiple local activities and partners at once
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
