The Opportunity:

The role is responsible for automating system provisioning, managing scalable and secure environments for exams and coursework, and ensuring high availability of educational platforms. This position directly enhances the digital experience for students and staff, supporting innovation in computer science education. The role of DevOps and Infrastructure Specialist reports to the Deputy Head of School (Education) and has no direct reports.

- Salary, Level 7: $113,926 - $123,302 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full Time (35 hours)
- Continuing position
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia (on campus attendance required)

Skills & Experience:

- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with DevOps practices including automated configuration (e.g. CFEngine), git and CI/CD.
- Proficiency in managing Linux-based systems and virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, KVM).
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience supporting learning management systems (e.g., Moodle) and digital assessment platforms.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and system management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication,



and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in a higher education or research environment.
- Familiarity with secure exam environments and accessibility considerations.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure models.
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in educational settings.
