Project Manager - Aboriginal Initiatives

Our client is the Courts Administration Authority, an independent authority supporting the administration of justice in South Australia. Based onsite in Adelaide, this 12-month fixed-term role sits within the Youth, Aboriginal and Cross Court Support Service Division and supports the delivery of culturally safe services across the court system.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced project professional with strong policy, consultation and writing skills, ideally with a sound understanding of Aboriginal culture, issues and perspectives. You will be confident working respectfully with Elders, Respected Persons, communities, agencies and diverse stakeholders, while balancing competing priorities in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Support the design, development, implementation and evaluation of policies, frameworks and procedures that promote culturally appropriate and safe practices for Aboriginal staff, Court Elders and Respected People.

Plan, coordinate and deliver projects aligned to Aboriginal Programs priorities, including project plans, timelines, risk management strategies and deliverables.

Research and prepare high-quality briefings, reports, policy papers,



correspondence and other documentation for a range of audiences, including senior executives.

Engage and consult respectfully with Aboriginal Elders, Respected Persons, communities, judiciary, internal teams and external partners to support trauma-informed, client-centred and evidence-based initiatives.

Build and maintain effective working relationships across government, non-government and Aboriginal organisations to improve service coordination.

Skills & Experience

Proven project management capability, including the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment.

Demonstrated experience developing culturally safe policies, procedures and frameworks for Aboriginal staff and programs.

Highly developed interpersonal and consultation skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal Elders, communities and stakeholders.

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce explicit, concise and high-quality reports, briefings, policies and frameworks

Ability to identify issues and develop practical, evidence-based solutions, with experience in a public sector, justice or community services environment an advantage.
