INF-L62 Trades Assistant – Electrical Mechanical at Charters Towers Regional Council, Charters Towers, QLD, AU.

Full time, limited tenure (up to 5 months, 76 hours per fortnight) under award C14 – C11 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award – State 2017.

Salary: $2,162.90 gross per fortnight.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the role provides assistance with maintenance and improvement duties across the electrical and mechanical teams supporting the Council’s water and wastewater systems, buildings and facilities. Duties include trades assistant tasks as required, ensuring efficient and effective services for the Council.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General knowledge in electrical/mechanical services; ability to meet physical requirements; routine task performance in accordance with established procedures; confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information; ability to safely use handheld tools, plant & equipment; effective teamwork; good organisational & time‑management skills; verbal and written communication; computer skills with Microsoft Office; participation in after‑hours on‑call roster.
- Essential Education / Qualifications: General Safety Induction Certificate (Construction Industry) – Blue/White Card.




- Essential Licences: Possession of or ability to obtain a current Queensland “MR” Class manual driver’s licence.

Physical Requirements & Position Environment

The role requires field work that may expose the incumbent to inclement weather. Manual handling, physical labour, entry into confined spaces, weekend and overtime work, and overnight stay at Council regional centres may be required.
