Queensland Hotel is seeking a Sous Chef or Cook to join our culinary team in Miles, QLD. This is a full time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment where your skills and passion for food will be valued and developed, accommodation is provided. Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes, plating standards and presentation guidelines
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices
- Support the Head Chef in leading and coordinating kitchen operations during service
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
- Monitor food quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed to maintain high standards

What we're looking for

- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen safety standards
- Experience with food handling, portion control and food cost management
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and support junior kitchen staff
- Flexibility with shift patterns,



working with 5days on and 2 days off.
- A genuine passion for delivering quality food and exceptional service
- Current or willingness to obtain food handling and workplace safety certifications
- Preferred experience in pub or casual dining environments
