An exciting opportunity within a Queensland State Government Department has become available for an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the delivery of estimating services across a diverse portfolio of building projects. This role combines technical estimating expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a team of Estimators and support staff while ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant and commercially competitive estimates for medium to high-risk and complex construction projects. You'll play a key role in supporting project planning, procurement and delivery while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Estimator, you will:

- Lead, mentor and support a team of Estimators and support staff.
- Prepare accurate construction estimates and quotation documentation for building projects.
- Manage the delivery of estimating programs and projects, particularly those that are complex or high-risk.
- Ensure compliance with the State Purchasing Policy, Minor Works framework, procurement requirements and relevant contract methods.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, estimating methodologies and procurement improvements.
- Monitor and report on estimating performance, including workload, project volumes, acceptance rates, productivity, costs and margins.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing timely, professional and commercially competitive estimating services.




- Promote a safe and positive workplace while managing staff performance and development.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

- Extensive experience preparing construction estimates within the building industry.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring estimating teams.
- Strong knowledge of construction procurement, tendering processes and contract delivery.
- The ability to manage multiple estimating projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving capability.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and continuous improvement.
